Konami banned Kojima from Game Awards
Surprisingly and sadly, The Metal Gear mastermind, Hideo Kojima wasn’t at Game Awards 2015. Konami is the company Hideo Kojima worked for prevented him for attending, host Geoff Keighley shortly announced after Kiefer Sutherland accepted an award on Kojima’s behalf. Press play above to watch Keighley’s comments.
After a little time, leaving the stage behind, Geoff Keighley was pretty sad at Kojima’s absence and tweeted!
@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN congrats, we miss you my friend!

Although, this wasn’t his first time tweeting to Kojima that day, Five hours before the show, He also tweeted this.
@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Are you ready for the show?

Besides these things, Kojima’s status as a Konami employee is still a valid thing, at least, it seems like by the comments of Keighley.
It’s been a really tough year for the man. A lot of rumors were spread that Konami and Kojima will split once Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain releases although we don’t know if it is true or not.
In March, Konami removed Kojima and Kojima productions logo from its website, not only this but they also renamed Kojima Productions Los Angeles to Konami Los Angeles Studio also the official twitter account for the Metal Gear series also migrated to a new one. These were some of the harsh changes, we still have no idea what Konami was really thinking? All this made us think that Kojima and Konami aren’t on the same path and could part their ways.
After all these things, people started to speculate a lot of things and started questioning. Metal Gear mastermind then tweeted that he will be 100 percent involved in the making of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain and will remain throughout its development. Obviously and sadly it didn’t work out as the man planned. Konami, later on, announced that they are looking and hiring a “new Metal Gear Series”
Before the release of Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain, Konami said that it will be the last game of its series although he has made similar announcements in the past we just don’t believe them anymore…
To be honest, we have no idea what is going to happen, I am pretty sure Kojima is going through a really hard time and I hope he gets through it. Beside this, I feel like The Metal Gear Series isn’t Konami’s series. It’s Kojima’s dream and perspective. He is the Metal Gear series, without him, nothing would be same.
Konami banned Kojima from Game Awards but,
Kojima made Konami. It’s not the other way around.
