How to Use Your PS4 Media Player App

Sony Has Finally Revealed that now we can use our Playstation 4 as a media Player App, this means now we can enjoy all our movies, photos, songs on our PlayStation 4, with the help of media server or Using Usb Stick.

This is What you Have to Do:

1. Download Media Player App

You can see Media Player App thumbnail on your home ribbon, you just have to click it and it starts downloading, However if it does not appear on your home ribbon, you can even search for Media player in the playstation store, and download it manually.

2. Using Media Player Through Media Server:

If you are going to use the app through Media Server, you have to make sure that your PC and your PS4 is connected using same server. Also you have to make sure that, it allow access to PS4 for connecting to your PC, which can be done in this way:

If you Are Using windows 7,
Go to Control Panel,
Select HomeGroup settings.
click on Choose Media Streaming options.
click on Show Devices on Local network and Select Allow All

If you happen to be a Windows 8.1 user, though, here’s what you need to do:
Go to ‘PC Settings’.
Click ‘Network’.
Select the Wi-Fi Router that you’re using:
This must be on the same network as your PS4.
Set the toggle beneath ‘Find Devices and Content’ to ‘On’.
Return to ‘Network’ and click ‘HomeGroup’.
Set the toggle for ‘Music’, ‘Pictures’, and ‘Video’ to ‘On’.

3. Using Media Player App with USB

Its quite simple to use Media Player App through USB Stick, just Plug in your USB stick into any of the USB post on your Console, PS4 will automatically detect your USB stick, however the only thing not to forget is that, Playstation only recognizes FAT 32 or eXfat type of USb stick. So dont forget to convert your USB sticks into those format or jut use any of the usb type convertor, such as Aomei
