Konami Gets a Taste of FIFA’s Controversy
The footballing world is extremely controversial. Whether it is players, managers or even journalists, everyone gets dragged into controversies once they are exposed to the ugly side of Football.
Unfortunately, Konami is on the receiving end of one such controversy. Argentine legend, Diego Maradona has claimed that Konami has replicated him in PES 2017 without his permission.
Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest footballers to have ever played. He has claimed that “My lawyer Matias Morla will initiate the corresponding legal actions.”
PES is a strong competitor to EA’s FIFA for football gaming. They do not have the rights to use the names of all the actual footballers and often use substitute names to avoid any conflict. However, PES is known for its crisp graphics and is selected over FIFA just for its graphics.
However, image rights is a serious issue in modern day sports, and no one takes such an issue lightly.
